Esplais Catalans - Esplac in partnership with FIEEA, IFM-SEI and national youth organisations working with children, teenagers and youth is glad to introduce you the training course "Volunteering for social transformation"
WHY TO ENGAGE IN THIS COURSE? The training course "Volunteering for social transformation" is an opportunity for youth leaders and educators working with children, teenagers and youth on a voluntary basis in the topics of Human Rights Education and Participation, and to question the educational youth work models intended to achieve the above-named Social Transformation. The course is addressed to youth leaders and educators committed with non-formal education, and pursues the reinforcement of a proactive voluntary model, able to lead processes creating activities and participating as active citizen in the projects he/she commits with. Moreover, the event will contribute to establish a lasting partnership with other organisations that work with young people and children around Europe, providing space for project planning among the organisations involved in the course. Above all, this training course is just for YOU, to self-develop new competences as educator, to better address new interests for your esplai, circolo, unit, centre, etc., and to promote education for diversity within your organisation through creating spaces to share experiences with peers from other European countries.
THE PROGRAMME "Volunteering for social transformation" is designed as an open space of mutual learning, based on non formal education methodologies. The training will last 8/9 full days. Such length in a Training Course it is not so common nowadays, in a society where usually contents flow too quickly. We consider it is a very important characteristic of this training "made in Esplac": it allows for participants to go deeper in contents and renders the experiential and living together part as a key element of the course. This is why we encourage participants to join us full of energy for the full duration of the training. The training course will be implemented with the support of a Team composed by trainers from the Pool of the Directorate of Youth and Sport of the Council of Europe, the Pool of the European Youth Forum, freelance trainers and volunteers of the International Commission of Esplac. In total, a group of 6 Team members committed to the course success.
PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS AND SELECTION PROCEDURE The course is open to 26 participants from organisations located in Austria, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, United Kingdom and Spain. Participants attending the course should have at least experience in one training activity, basic knowledge of Non-formal Education, actively involved in the youth field and willing to develop international partnership. It is not necessary to have previous experience on the issues addressed in the course, but we request an open approach, readiness for anintercultural learning experience and interest in developing strategies and projects addressed to children. That's why selected participants may be requested to fill in a brief questionnaire and send it before the course. Information compiled will be used by the Team to prepare specific sessions of the course. The training course will be carried out in English language!!! Therefore all participants should be able to fully participate in this language. We encourage you to challenge yourself to develop your communication skills.
